Taking up a management position for the first time can be a big challenge and a time when you will need particular support and encouragement. This workshop will help you adjust to your new post and develop the skills and confidence to enable you to successfully fulfil your managerial responsibilities including: developing a range of management approaches and styles; providing direction and vision; working with staff to find solutions; promoting effective team-working; communicating clearly; being assertive and firm when necessary; effective delegation; and understanding the nature of stress and its impact on performance.
This course can be tailored to meet your specific needs and delivered in-house.
Comments from previous courses:
“I especially enjoyed the delegation session and discovering I’m not bad at it. The 4 assertive steps were useful – a tool to do something I really don’t want to do. I liked the range of different people and diversity of the group”
“I liked the lots of interaction and activities. All the information was very useful & I have found many examples which I can practically use in the workplace”
“I feel more confident and motivated to go back to work as a better manager”
“I feel more motivated but also more aware of how much I don’t know and how much practice I need!”
“The trainer was excellent - the course was a mixture of listening/group work and practical and very clear explanations”
“I felt the course was extremely well structured and that the trainer is very clear and allows time to expand on issues raised”
