This one day workshop helps the participant understand the social and attitudinal barriers that really disable people and aims to assist the removal of such barriers within their organisation’s practises, policies, procedures and environment. It addresses the difference between the Medical and Social Models of Disability, acceptable language /etiquette and will be useful for all who desire to implement the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995. By the end of the day participants will have the information and understanding necessary to action plan changes within their own organisations to improve access for disabled people to employment or goods, services, facilities and premises.
