Copyright for beginners

29 June 2006
4 December 2006
With: Naomi Korn

Copyright is an essential issue when creating, performing, using, adapting, reproducing and disseminating most forms of content including digital material. Since copyright is an automatic right and does not need registering, it is likely that rights issues will exist in most of this content and those rights will be owned by somebody. Increasingly rights holders (such as music, software and film companies) are devising ways to protect their content from unauthorised use and making sure that this is followed up. Not being up to speed about copyright can lead to copyright infringement, loss of control of valuable assets and potential damage to reputations. Can you afford not to know about copyright?

This workshop will provide an overview of the key issues, concerns and practicalities relating to copyright and rights issues. It will also focus upon the ways in which good copyright practice can be embedded within project management and discuss techniques for clearing, managing and protecting rights within analogue and digital environments. The trainer will use a lively hands-on presentation style to encourage active participation in a relaxed and friendly learning environment.

This course can be tailored to meet your specific needs and delivered in-house.
