This course looks at the many benefits of appraisals and examines how they can be implemented and conducted to maximise effectiveness and fairness. Areas covered include: purpose and benefits of appraisals, preparation for the appraiser and appraisee, key elements of an appraisal forms, communication skills to support the appraisal discussion, setting achievable and measurable goals, monitoring performance, dealing with difficult situations and poor performance and ensuring the process is positive and motivating.
